research, I have decided that the attraction that you should visit when you are
here in Singapore would be the S.E.A Aquarium.
Visitor Market
The attraction focuses on attracting tourists, families with small children, couples, and students. From what I have observed, the tourists are mainly from the age range of 40 to 50 years old. They are staying visitors of Resort World Sentosa or Marina Bay Sands, and the tourist crowd would be at its peak in the afternoon, from 12pm onwards. They will either come on their own or with their tour group. Families come with their small children that are between the ages of 3 to 12 years old. Most of them travel by car or Sentosa Express from Vivocity, and more families can be seen at that place in the afternoon, after 12pm. The benefits sought by them would be to educate their children through programs such as shark encounters and interactions. The couples that visit the attraction are in their twenties and they are probably there to spend quality time with each other. As they are working adults, they can be seen during weekends. The last group of target market is students. When I was there, I observed a large group of elementary school students from China. I assume that they are there for a field trip in Singapore therefore, their means of transportation would be a coach. Benefits sought would be first-hand experience to enhance what they are learning. Thus, the suitable time to visit that place would be on a weekday, preferably at 10 am, as the crowd usually comes in the afternoon.

The reason why I
chose this attraction and not the others is because the attraction is very
accessible. Visitors can easily reach the site via convenient and affordable
modes of transportation such as buses, Sentosa Express or taxis. Food outlets
and restrooms are nearby and they are within walking distance. The main product
that the attraction offers would be experience and atmosphere. It would be a
wonderful experience to be able to look at the fishes just inches away from you
through the glass. The highlight of the attraction would be sitting down and
relaxing in front of the huge tank while watching much bigger sea creatures; it
will make you feel as though you are actually underwater.

For the tangible
products, they offer great quality service and standards. You will encounter
sea creatures that you rarely see such as blue-spotted stingray, fairy basslet,
yellow boxfish, orange striped triggerfish and more. Even though the queue for
the tickets was very long, the line was moving very fast which shows that the
staffs working there are very efficient. For augmented product, the site offers
two food outlets to allow visitors to enjoy their food while watching the
beautiful creatures. Also, there is a gift shop near the exit of the aquarium
so visitors can bring home souvenirs and keep it as memoirs. I think the benefits, in intangible form, that will attract you the most would be the experience you obtain from admiring the view of the vast array of sea creatures
that will take your breath away, especially the different types of jellyfishes. Apart from that, you will also enjoy the serene atmosphere of being underwater with the fishes
For tangible benefits, you will be attracted by the souvenirs that you can buy from the gift shop located near the exit of the aquarium as it can be kept as memoirs.Therefore, I suggest that you visit this attraction as it is worth the money.

I think that the
aquarium has met the needs of their target market, which makes it a value for
money, and that is why it has been highly ranked on TripAdvisor. Tourists,
families and couples visit the attraction to relax, entertain themselves, and have
an intimate experience with creatures of the underwater world. By having more
than 800 species to see, visitors will find themselves captivated. Also, as
they are allowed to see the creatures up close, they will experience a sense of
awe. On the other hand, students visit the attraction to gain knowledge. Information
is presented on signboards and interactive screens next to each exhibit. Being
able to touch some of the creatures will allow them to gain first-hand experience,
which will educate the on marine life. Thus, this is how S.E.A aquarium met the
needs of its visitors. What makes the attraction site unique would be it’s setting
that takes you on a journey through many of the world’s seas such as the
Straits of Malacca and the Andaman Sea, the South China Sea, the Arabian Sea,
and many more, and the educational tours that the attraction offers.

S.E.A
aquarium is better than its competitions because of its location at Resorts
World Sentosa. Being situated there makes it very convenient for tourists who
are staying in the vicinity and there are a lot of food outlets surrounding the
site. For tourists who are not staying at the resorts, they can still roam
around Sentosa, which is a tourist destination, after visiting the aquarium.
Therefore, they can kill two birds with one stone. The aquarium has
successfully promotes itself by claiming to be the world’s largest aquarium. After
generating much hype, it managed to live up to the expectations of visitors
through quality service standards and its products namely the experience and
the sea creatures. Thus, this shows why the attraction has been highly ranked
on TripAdvisor even though it is still new.
Impact of attraction on Singapore
The attraction
has impacted Singapore in an economic, environmental, and socio-cultural way. Firstly, it has brought
tourism revenue to Singapore from the sales of tickets and profits when
visitors visit the attraction as they are curious about the new aquarium that
claimed to be the largest in the world. It also affects the citizens economically because the tourism industry needs labour which means that there will be a growth in employment, and this will improve the people's economy. Secondly, it has environmental impact
on Singapore. As the
marine life needs to be transported from its natural habitat, they might find it
hard to adapt to the weather here and they may be mishandled during the
transportation to Singapore. One perfect example would be the controversy that
occurred due to the death of one of the dolphins during its flight to
Singapore. Therefore, the controversy has increased environmental awareness among
people who are against animal cruelty. Lastly, the attraction also has impacted Singapore in a socio-cultural way. The attraction will stimulate the improvement of facilities and transportation at Sentosa to make it more accessible for visitors. Thus, it has improved our country in terms of socio-cultural way by improving community facilities. Also, the attraction has increased the citizens' pride. Knowing that tourists traveled across the world to visit our country and the attraction will increase our interest to visit the site, and increase our pride in the country.
